In Prague, from the 18th  to the 20th November, JEF carried on with its Europe@myDesk project.

The first day, the European Commission Representation hosted a debate on the reflection of post-1989 development in Czechia. The speakers, Dana Beckova, Anna Sabatova, Radko Hokovsky and Lukas Toth approached the topic of the discussion: „20 years of freedom – looking back and learning a lesson for the new generation “ under different aspects. In the afternoon, Jiri Let from the Czech Council for Children and Youth together with Linh Nguyen brainstormed with high school students on the subject and identified policy areas where the government should attempt change. The most commonly cited area was education.

On Thursday, two lessons at high schools were held by Jan Husak, chairman of the International Institute for Political Science (IIPS) Student Section; the more engaging one on the Lisbon Treaty, the other on the opportunities for youth in the EU.

The 3rd day, there was a workshop hosted by the Radio Free Europe – Radio Liberty, led by the former Czech Radio Balkans correspondent Martin Jezekthe together with Vladka Jelinkova from JEF-CZ. The outcome was a thirty-minute radio news programme prepared and recorded by the participants. Have a look to the nice pictures!! http://bit.ly/8B1IYa
