Thanks to JEF-Latvia, the DeskEvent in Riga was really productive.
The first day, Zane Lapina, Liga Grundsteine and Iohanna Gonzalez held a presentation in a high school to present different programmes such as EVS, Erasmus, Comenius etc… During the afternoon, the trainers made an intervention at the University of Riga during a “European public communication” course. They presented different kinds of actions that and NGO can use to reach the civil society and the European Union (campaigning, street actions, PR etc…). JEF is then a good example with the Belarus Action, Berlin wall etc…
On Friday, the Europe@myNewsDesk took place at the EU House in Riga. The participants had the chance to visit and discover the National News Agency “LETA”. Edgars Koronevskis hold the workshop and presented the new web technologies. Ineta Jekabsone deliver a workshop on Video Making. The participants had then the afternoon to go on the street, hold some interviews, and then present their results to the group.
On Saturday, the workshops on Project Management and Fund-raising were presented by Liga, Iohanna and Zane. The participants were willing to work in smaller group to work on their own project and had to present their draft to the entire groups!
