In the Europe@myDesk framework, we will organise a DeskChallenge to motivate young people to continue to be active in their country.
The DeskChallenge is divided in 2 parts.
The first competition focuses on developing tools to motivate young people to get involved in training and information on European issues in schools or at youth events with innovative and original tools. So, they have one month to organise an event in their city/country (Europe@mySchool intervention, or street actions…).
The second competition focuses on how to develop a consistent editorial project on European issues. The participants of the NewsDesk event will be invited to write an article on European issues in our webzine: thenewfederalist.eu and/or in its partner magazines taurillon.fr, eurobull.it and taurin-magazin.de. The competition focuses in developing similar editorial projects, but possibly with new tools or original ideas, in other European languages.
Rules of the game
The participants of the 2 competitions will have until the 21 March to send the report of their activities (video, photos and small report) or articles.
On 29 March 2010, the result of the competitions will be announced on thenewfederalist.eu. Two youngsters from each country will be selected and invited to attend the three-days-long DeskChallenge Convention taking place in April 16-18 2010 in Brussels.
Award
These competitions are a presentation of the best projects of the European participants. It gives the opportunity to the participants to compare themselves with their peers across the continent and to exchange experiences, ideas and good practices. It offers them the opportunity to meet other young people, who share the same interests and to “live” Europe during three days in Brussels.

- Guided tour through the historic and European neighbourhoods of Brussels
- Visit of the European Parliament
- Visit of the facilities of a leading European news desk
